It goes without saying that Thaiholics Cape Town has not been immune from the challenges of 2020. Through the hard lock downs here in South Africa, we adapted where we could with online training sessions, specially designed workouts for home training and tried to keep the Thaiholics family members chins up through the toughest times.
When gyms were allowed to reopen, we adopted every protocol in order to keep members safe. Booking class slots, wearing masks, cleaning equipment after every use, temperature recording and contact tracing. Life changed a lot for everyone. We are thankfully now allowed to train without masks for high intensity exercise, but we are still taking every other precaution we can.
By the end of 2020 it became clear that Thaiholics needed a new space to align with a new strategy going forward. After all, sometimes change is necessary for growth. On Thursday, 21st January 2021, we had our final class at the old premises. Though there was an amazing vibe in the class, the team was of course sad to say farewell - plenty blood, sweat and tears have been shed and most of all, amazing memories with our fight family have been made there. However, a new space is just the breath of fresh air that is needed to reinvigorate us all and start the new year off with a clear vision.
Thaiholics has found an awesome new space to call home in a secure complex just a couple kilometres from the old premises. You can find us at Unit 19, Central Park, Platinum Crescent, Montague Gardens.
